Choose the Right Course to Study in Uruguay

Step 1: Know your Goals

Step 2: Search, Research and Short list

Search and research about the course you want to undertake and the universities offering that particular course. Visit the official website of the university to know in detail about the course-structure, admission requirements, language requirements, scholarships, credits, tuition fees, accommodation & more..

After thorough searching and researching, short list the universities that suit your criteria. Contact that university to know more about the admissions.  

Step 3: Apply to the University

After you have decided the study programme and the university, without further delay, apply at the chosen University. Apply directly to the Uruguayan higher education institution of your choice.

General Admission Requirements

  • For Undergraduate degree programmes: Students must hold a secondary education certificate.
  • For Master’s degree programme: Students must hold an undergraduate degree. 
  • For Doctoral degree programme: Students must hold a master‘s degree or its equivalent.

Language Requirements

Spanish Language Proficiency

Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) certificate is accepted as a Spanish proficiency certificate. 
International students must have an intermediate level of proficiency in Spanish language, which is equivalent to B1 or B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Step 5: Apply for Student Visa 

If you’re selected, you will receive a letter of acceptance. Once you receive it, apply for a student visa. International students do not need a visa for stays up to 90 days, but for stays longer than that, a visa is required.
